Financial Manager

An industry leading commercial property brokerage firm, situated in Johannesburg, is looking for a Financial Manager to provide thorough management of finances for the company’s operations. Due to the expansive nature of the business, it is necessary that all applicants are able to handle the needs associated with a growing firm. An in-depth understanding of financial management is required to be able to assist in the management and handling of the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

An in-depth understanding of financial management is required to be able to assist in the management and handling of the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

Key qualifications and experience required of the Financial Manager:

• SAIPA articles with 2 years post SAIPA articles experience (Preferred) or

• BCom Accounting/Finance (Non-negotiable) with 3-5 years of finance experience

• Familiarity with QuickBooks (Advantageous)

• Microsoft Excel skills

• Financial modelling skills

• Advanced IFRS knowledge

• Excellent understanding of accounting principles

• Experience with PaySpace payroll system (Preferred)

Key duties of the Financial Manager:

• Financial reporting and monthly management reporting

• Income statement, Balance Sheet, and preparing Cash Flow forecasting

• Analysis of variances

• Analysing funding requirements and working capital management needs

• Accounting and Bookkeeping functions

• Running the payroll function

• Ensuring procurement function is in order

• Preparing month end consolidations

• Budgeting & Forecasting

• Implementing strategies and demonstrating innovation

• Implementing effective controls

• Work closely with CFO to monitor cost management and interpreting data

• Tax compliance and VAT Returns (EMP201 and EMP501)

• Statutory returns

• External Audit assistance

• VAT recons, Bank recons, Intercompany transactions recons, and Creditors recons

• Accounting, Tax and Compliance
