Head of Business Finance

A large Insurance firm in South Africa, is seeking a Head of Business Finance to oversee the Group's financial planning, forecasting and analysis functions within the business. The successful candidate will lead the development of analysis based on appropriate metrics to evaluate financial and business performance management and for various lines of the business intelligence function.

Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to, for the Head of Business Finance:

• Provide commercial insights into business performance and identify opportunities and trends
• Conduct performance analysis
• Provide financial planning and modelling skills to measure strategic outcome
• Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of initiatives of the group
• Assessing customer profitability and pricing
• Monitor and lead financial planning and performance management process
• Group reporting, forecasting, and consolidation
• Driving revenue growth and product growth

Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience required for the Head of Business Finance:

• Actuary, CA(SA), engineering qualification
• 7-10 years + post-article experience in financial services
• Financial and business acumen
• Strong analytical skills
• Management experience – NB
• FP&A experience – NB
• Sound knowledge of Budgeting and Forecasting and Business Performance Management
• 4-5 years' experience in heading up and managing a similar function
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Stakeholder management skills
• Leading change and innovation
• Results orientated
• Excellent Finance Business Partnering experience
• Technology focused
