Head of Key Accounts

An FMCG multinational based in the North of Johannesburg is currently looking for a Head of Key Accounts to join their well-established team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a key account team and will ensure that all plans are in line with the business’s strategic direction.

Head of Key Accounts Responsibilities:

• Identifies category growth opportunities, and develops the size of category plans.

• Develops a channel strategy that defines which channels the business will focus on.

• Drive profitable growth for the business and customers by understanding the P&L, and the financial impact of the key drivers

• Understands the consumer value journey, and identifies and builds plans that maximize conversion to sales for multiple brands

• Builds a full understanding of customers and their shoppers, and builds a customer business plan

• Understands and assesses the current eBusiness landscape and its evolution, and identifies key opportunities in the short and medium term

• Builds the capabilities to implement the right plans for all eBusiness channels and customers

Head of Key Accounts Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in a similar role (i.e. Head of Key Accounts)

• 3 years’ experience as a Key Account Manager for National Accounts in the Modern Trade Channel

• Strong Managerial and Leadership experience (i.e. experience in managing direct reports)

• Strong relationships with South African Retailers

• Relevant qualification in Business/Marketing/Business Administration (or similar)
